French mantle  clock from 1890`s by highly regarded  maker Japy Freres a company started by Frederick Japy in the late 1700`s and passed  to  his  3 sons  in 1806 when  it became Japy Freres (Japy brothers).

Purchased  for very reasonable  cost  at  village antique  shop

Ebonised  soft wood  case  with  inlaid marble effect strips.

The clock  strikes  the  half hour  and  hour  on a bell and  has proven to  be  extremely reliable  without  any  work  being  carried  out .
