Postmans Alarm Clock
A Black Forest Clock from around 1900. It has a label on the inside showing it was sold by Lovejoy Clockmakers of London a company known to be trading up to 1920.
The clock has a very pale pink chapter ring on the enamel dial , there is no glass on this clock.
As suggested in the title this is an alarm clock , the alarm being set by turning the brass dial seen in centre of dial. There is no striking.
One weight powers the time the other the alarm.
The clock was purchased as non runner , the alarm function was not working and bell missing.
These defects have been sorted out and the clock now runs perfectly and the alarm is reliable - and very very loud!
