This  clock  is made  by  the Sessions  Clock Co  which  took  over  the  company E N Welch  in 1903.

Likely  manufacture  between 1903  and 1915.

It has  the  appearance  of  slate  but  is  in  fact  ebonised  wood.

This  clock was  purchased  for  little  cost   was  in  tact  although  poor  condition.

All  the  gold  finishing  including  the  dial  required  repainting and  the  wood  case  touching  up  and blacking.

The movement  was  working  but  on  removal  was  found  to  have  had a  couple  of soldered  repairs  and  was in poor  shape. I was fortunate  to  find an identical  original sessions  movement on  ebay  to  replace  it.

The  clock now  runs reliably  with  an excellent strike  sound
